Today 05/31/09 Is The Fiftieth Day in the counting of the fifty days from the Wave Sheaf Omer to the Feast of Weeks - Shavuot - Pentecost (05-31-09).

    Leviticus 23:15 And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:
    Leviticus 23:16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new grain offering unto YAHWEH.
    Leviticus 23:17 You shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto YAHWEH.

Leviticus 23:15....from the morrow after the sabbath....

The question arises as to whether or not this is speaking to the weekly sabbath or the 1st or last high sabbath of the CHag Matzot - Feast of Unleavens.

The clue as to whether it is the weekly sabbath or the high sabbath is found in the use of the Hebrew - הַשַּׁבָּת - translated "The Sabbath" - also used for seven Sabbaths - שַׁבָּתות plural "Sabbaths"- v 16 - ...after the seventh sabbath...הַשַּׁבָּת - "The Sabbath".

הַשַּׁבָּת - is used in the following scriptures in which the context is the weekly sabbath and is not use in which the context is a high feast sabbath:

    Exodus 16:29; 20:8,11; 31:15;
    Leviticus 23:11,15,16; 24:8;
    Numbers 28:9;
    Deuteronomy 5:12;
    2Kings 11:5,7,9; 16:18;
    2Chronicles 23:4,8;
    Nehemiah 10:31; 13:15,19,22;
    Jeremiah 17:21,22,24,27;
    Ezekiel 46:1,4,12;

Now that it is established that the Wave Sheaf is offered on the morrow after the weekly sabbath and seven weekly sabbaths must pass in order for the fiftieth day to be on the morrow after the seventh weekly sabbath, we must determine when occurs "the morrow after the weekly sabbath". Some are of the opinion the weekly sabbath and not the morrow after the weekly sabbath must be within the seven Days of Unleavens, but is that true?

Exactly what is the purpose of the three times in a year Feast of Unleavens, Feast of Weeks, and Feast of Ingathering and what have all three have in common?

All three are Harvest Festivals.

If they are all Harvest Festivals then what is required in order to celebrate each of them and would it not include some portion of the each years seasonal harvest?

The 1st of the three times in a year seasonal Barley harvest occurs just prior to The Days of Unleavens and from that harvest it would then be logical that the first fruits of that Barley harvest are then offered as a Wave sheaf offering on "the morrow after the weekly sabbath" as long as that morrow occurred during the Harvest Festival of Unleavens, it does not appear logical to offer the Wave Sheaf offering on the morrow after the weekly sabbath if the morrow after the weekly sabbath should then fall outside of or after the seven Days of the Feast of Unleavens, as that Wave Sheaf offering is of the first fruits of that years barley harvest and is the focus of that 1st Harvest festival before Yahweh just as the Wheat Harvest is the focus of the "Feast of Weeks - Shavuot - Pentecost" Harvest Festival.
