Over the decades I have been part several large Sabbatarian denominations who put much stock in their large mailing lists, some in the tens of millions, as proof that they were the only ones preaching the gospel to all nations.

Yet I now have come to a personal realization that having a large mailing list, even if it is in the millions, does not necessarily translate into new converts, or even guarantees that the material distributed through a mailing list is ever read or listened to by those receiving the materials.

----------------

I remember Garner Ted Armstrong relating that due to the WCG Plain Truth Magazine having such a huge success in recruiting new subscribers in this one African Township in South Africa, it was decided that on his next visit to South Africa, GTA would go to this township with a film crew to document how the gospel was being spread throughout the world in the end times.

GTA arrived at the township and at each successive home that was visited it became clear and it was reinforced to GTA why the free subscription was so successful and the purpose to which the FREE full color Plain Truth magazine was being used.

The individual pages from the Free Full color Plain Truth magazine were first separated and then used as wall paper on the interior walls of their houses, and it was also discovered that most of the home owners could not read.

------------------

When The Congregation of YHWH, Irving, Texas first started our Audio and Video outreach program we were sending FREE Audio Cassette Tapes and VHS video tapes, our mailing list consisted of individuals with whom we had a previous association, then we established the Yahsaves website and began to offer our Audio Cassette and VHS Video recordings of our Sabbath services as a free service, this resulted in a rapid increase in our mailing list.
There were times wherein yahsaves.org would receive 8-10 new requests per week, all from a limited locale and/or postal address in a foreign nation, the reason was that Audio Cassette tapes and/or VHS video cassette tapes were expensive locally and by getting on our Free Audio or Video mailing list they could receive free tapes, which they then erased and recorded Music or video movies over our recording to be sold, to earn a living. In other words their ulterior motives prevented them from learning anything from the materials. All of this contributed to the cost of the Free subscription and became one of the reasons that we replace the Audio and Video tapes with digital recordings on CD's and DVD's, recordings that could not be reused. We also limited free subscriptions for Audio Cassette tapes to the USA and Canada.

---------------------

Years ago someone submitted my wife's name for a free subscription to "The Sacred Name Broadcaster" after several years of getting the magazine we reached a point with which the magazine was of no further benefit and she sent a letter requesting that her name be removed from their mailing list, sad to say but after several additional letters she is still receiving the magazine. So why not stop the subscription? It would appear then that instead of saving money by reducing the necessity of printing and mailing costs, they continue mailing the magazine so they can maintain bragging rights to how many magazines they mail out each month? So the question arises how many others are getting this magazine and tossing it into the trash?

These are among the many reasons behind why we require that all subscribers renew their free subscription every two years.

-------------------

This year 54 out of 151 renewed their free subscription by the June 15, 2009 deadline.

On June 30th, 2009 I sent a reminder to the 97 that did not respond and I have since been receiving a trickle of additional renewals.

If this year is like the previous renewal years, it will be months and as long as a year before some realize they no longer are receiving their CD or DVD.

Some because they are receiving materials from a cross section of all Sacred Names, Sabbatarian, Messianic Jewish, Judaism and Pentecostal/Protestant denominations and religious(?) TV programs.

They may wander why they are so Doctrinally confused? Simple, they have yet to make one concise commitment to Yahweh.

They are still looking for that one belief system that agrees with their lifestyle. Or group that can make their Biblical Doctrinal explanation of the Bible permit them to continue a lifestyle that is contrary to the Bible.

------------------

I used to be concerned when people I had known for years dropped off of the yahsaves mailing list, until I realized that for some there is a line in the sand in which they will not change their lifestyle in order to conform to Yahweh, and all they need is some small doctrinal twig with which they can disagree and thus convince themselves that they do not have to conform to Yahweh and can now justify their discontinuing their relationship with yahsaves.

The Jeremiah study series has helped me to understand this peculiar trait that appears to be in all men and women, which if not fought, will consume them and/or us.

It becomes even more evident, when personalities are involved,i.e. when it turns out that certain personalities are using their interpretation of scripture for their personal gain and the individual take exception when this is pointed out from scripture in a sermon. the individual appears to be blinded by how much they personally like the individual and will not hear Biblical evidence against their favorite speaker. They then cut-off contact without verifying the evidence. In other words they will not hear/listen, because they would of necessity have to make changes in their life, give up their favorite speaker or possibly admit that they were deceived into believing an interpretation that is contrary to scripture.

I have come to the conclusion that the only Mailing List that counts contains those who truly are searching the scriptures and not those who just dabble in religion.

Can the following verses also apply to materials sent out to a mailing list?

Matthew 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Mark 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when you depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Luke 9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

Luke 10:11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaves on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be you sure of this, that the kingdom of Elohim is come nigh unto you.

The message of the Gospel of the Kingdom is contained in each and every Audio Cassette, CD, VHS and DVD that has been mailed as part of spreading the gospel message by the Congregation of YHWH, Irving, Texas, and Yahshua is the one who will judge the sincerity of your, our handling of that gospel materials or that of those who just dabble.

Who will be just dust to be wiped away?
